Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo 9-11

VIEW IN EDSHED

A tale of brothers, Thomas, Charlie and Joe Peaceful.  The story is narrated by Thomas who tells the story of his life as a boy before World War one with his brothers and their friend Molly. Their life changes with the advent of war where the three of them serve together.  During a charge of the German lines, Charlie disobeys a direct order and stays with Thomas as he is injured on No-Man’s-land.  Charlie is subsequently charged with cowardice and latterly found guilty.  The book’s final chapters count down to dawn when Charlie will be executed by firing squad.
